Double-hand Poker is a modern game with old origins. Built on the old Chinese tile game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the far east with the wild west in a fantastic game for early level gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player versus the casino, unlike most other poker games that gamblers bet with other players. By playing against the dealer, new players don’t have to worry about other, more skillful players winning their $$$$.
An additional Pai Gow edge is the relatively leisurely game pace, beginners will be able to take their time and scheme without having to make quick selections.
It’s also easier to participate in for an extended time with basically a small bit of cash since, to lose, each of your hands has to be lower than both of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and one joker. The gambler is given seven cards face up and the house is dealt 7 cards faces hidden.
A 5 card hand and one 2 card hand need to be put together from the 7 cards, the five card hand must be stronger than the two card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be higher than the casino’s.
