Web High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Friday, 9. February 2018
Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to make it to the closing game in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the best players anywhere in the world. While competing in internet poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He regularly plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus generally buys in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I accept that Hansen is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy-in.
Buying in for the minimum takes most of the skill out of deep stack poker. Gus is presumed to be 1 of the greatest poker players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full amount. I think television can skew our view of the real world at times. The best poker players anywhere in the world may be players you have never heard about. Gus can be seen betting on web poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his talents in cash rounds?
