Concentrate on Annie Duke
Saturday, 8. September 2012
Annie Duke mightn’t have came away with her 1st WSOP Bracelet until two thousand and four but she is still one of the most feared poker players around the ring games at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-awaited WSOP win came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run amok following a big win at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mommy" to her 4 children. She was born in NH and was raised into a family of poker players. If you don’t believe that, check out her sibling, Howard Lederer, when he plays, who taught her the best method to play the game.
However, Annie Duke is no small fry kind of girl and has earned her cut of difficult games, which includes eliminating Howard a few times on numerous occasions.
Earning well over three million dollars in tournament action, Annie became a advisor to both UltimateBet and actor Ben Affleck, who wished to sharpen his techniques to become a power player in poker.
You might just run into Annie at the Bellagio, you will see her on the television and you might just even compete with her in a net poker match, but don’t count on a simple win. Unless you are a up and coming master, you will not defeat her. although, it is likely to be cool to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
